104 pages, over 80 maps including detail maps cover California and Nevada. Mike Walker, the cartographer behind the SPV atlas series, has worked with RailfanDepot to bring you this special reprinting of his original atlas. This California & Nevada edition has been expanded with new enlargements to show complex areas in greater detail and now includes interurban electric lines, light rail and principal logging railroads. Also shown are proposed extensions to the Bay Area and Los Angeles commuter networks, the proposed California High Speed Network and the Yucca Mountain Railroad in Nevada. Maps include major stations, yards, bridges and tunnels. Current and past rail operators are shown for each line.Each atlas has detector locations, open/closed stations, tourist railroads, major bridges and tunnels and additional railroad details. Drawn at eight miles to one inch, with two miles to one inch for complex/close-up areas. All railroads shown.
This series is designed to provide a single source of reference to the North American rail network, past and present. The atlas shows all currently operated common carriers, tourist and major industrial railroads along with abandoned routes. Maps are clearly printed on glossy paper. Comprehensive index includes cities, towns, railroad yards, major industries and stations.
